Rachel Maddow said the U.S. justice system would be under attack like never before if Donald Trump were indicted.
Mr Maddow said:
The first grand jury we hear from is in Georgia and we’ll hear from them this week. If he thought he was the US version of one of the , is an attack on a particular system that holds the power to prosecute him, potentially arrest him, bring him to court and bring him to trial. It’s one thing to (inaudible) with people who investigate you, but what you do in court, and you do that with the same willingness to burn down one of the pillars of our democracy. Attack the system?
All over the world, we see how far-right leaders dismantle these kinds of systems to claim and maintain their collective power. I didn’t have to fight it here. There’s a lot to learn quickly about how to ensure these things.
