The percentage of Republicans who have never heard of George Santos is the same as Ron DeSantis (14%). The only Republicans more famous than Santos are Donald Trump (8%) and Ted Cruz (13%), who finished in the top two in the 2016 primary.
Santos is better known among Republicans than former Vice President Mike Pence or any non-Trump Republican presidential campaign. Santos was less likely to know Santos (14%) than Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (19%).
The Monmouth poll also reveals that other potential 2024 Republican candidates besides Trump and DeSantis currently don’t have much of a chance of winning the presidential nomination.
